DEVOTED is a daily devotional that grew out of my personal Scripture journaling. Each entry is a tapestry woven by God’s Word, designed to be read daily and offering instruction to help you grow in clarity, insight, and understanding. Devoted is to be read in addition to your personal time, opening the Bible and studying the Scriptures. In my experience, God’s Word speaks for itself.

While my original notes drew from several Bible translations, the printed text of DEVOTED uses only the King James Version, with all references carefully cross-referenced using the King James Reference Bible, the Thompson Chain Bible, and the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.

DEVOTED reminds us that God’s Word is living and active. It was first spoken by God, given to those who would faithfully receive it, written down as they were instructed, and preserved throughout generations. Over time, it has been translated into many languages and published in countless versions. Today, we hold those same Holy Scriptures in our hands, and with every translation and Bible app at our fingertips, God still speaks. Though He may speak differently than He did to the prophets, apostles, or followers long ago, His voice remains the same. God is faithful to His Word, and He continues to speak through it today.

Each season of DEVOTED is titled from the Scripture that captured the theme of what God was revealing to me at that time. This was how He spoke and instructed me through His Word. Many seeds were planted, ideas conceived, and remarkable works were birthed through these very passages.                                                                                                                                          

Over twenty years, God revealed four distinct seasons that shaped this devotional. Each marks a chapter in my life, and looking back, I can see how each season led me on a journey that deepened my faith and trust in God’s Word. The Vision came at the beginning of my ministry, Summer Fruit confirmed what God had done and was about to do, The Well revealed my purpose, and Treasures of Darkness emerged from a season of loss, when His light continued to shine in the darkness and led me to undeniable riches.

Scripture is full of stories where God gave divine revelation to those who listened and obeyed. When He said, “Write it down,” they did, and because they did, their obedience gave us the written Word of God and a record of how He showed up in their lives. In the same way, God still gives instructions and direction today, using ordinary men and women to fulfill His purposes.

My prayer is that as you open these pages, God’s Word speaks to you personally. 

DEVOTED is more than a book—it is an invitation to spend time with God, hear His voice, and let His Word instruct and direct your life. May these devotions encourage you, strengthen your faith, and reveal the works God has called you to do, reminding you that He is faithful, His promises are true, and His presence never leaves you.
